Arrive in Windhoek at your own pace and settle in. The day is yours for last-minute supplies, currency, or just shaking off the flight before the road starts tomorrow. Meet the group and your guide at an evening briefing, where we run through the route ahead and answer any questions.

Your safari begins in Windhoek, Namibia's compact, German-influenced capital, before the road opens up toward the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on Earth. Break for a legendary lunch at Solitaire, a one-street outpost famous across Namibia for its apple pie, before rolling into camp as the desert light turns gold.

Rise before dawn to catch Dune 45 lit up in burnt orange, then push on to Deadvlei, a bone-white clay pan studded with 900-year-old camel thorn trees against blood-red dunes, one of the most photographed landscapes in Africa. Round out the day at Sossusvlei and the narrow, wind-carved walls of Sesriem Canyon.

Head to Bushmans Camp for a Living Desert excursion, tracking small creatures that have adapted to survive in one of the driest places on the planet: geckos, beetles, sidewinding snakes. It's a masterclass in desert ecology delivered by guides who read the sand like a book.

Trade dunes for coastline with a drive to Walvis Bay, where a lagoon full of flamingos makes for one of Namibia's most striking wildlife scenes. Follow the Atlantic coast road into Swakopmund, a quirky seaside town where German colonial architecture meets Atlantic surf.

A free day to make the most of Namibia's adventure capital: quad biking over the dunes, sandboarding, skydiving, or a gentler day of café-hopping and browsing craft markets. Whatever pace you choose, Swakopmund delivers.

Depart early for Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to one of the largest Cape fur seal colonies in the world and a sobering introduction to the Skeleton Coast's shipwreck-strewn history. From there, head inland to Spitzkoppe, where camp is pitched among ancient granite domes that glow deep red at sunset.

Continue north to Kamanjab for an introduction to the Himba, one of Namibia's last semi-nomadic tribes, still practicing centuries-old traditions of dress, ochre body art, and cattle herding.

Arrive at Etosha National Park, Namibia's flagship wildlife destination, built around a vast salt pan visible from space. Game drives here reward patience: elephant, lion, rhino and oryx are regulars against Etosha's stark, silvery backdrop.

A full day of game drives through Etosha's varied habitats, followed by an evening at Okaukuejo's famous floodlit waterhole, regularly visited by black rhino after dark, one of the best wildlife-watching setups in Africa.

Leave Etosha behind for Rundu on the Okavango River, with a stop for a Bushmen experience along the way: a chance to hear firsthand from the San, Southern Africa's original hunter-gatherers.

Push north into the Caprivi Strip, a slender finger of Namibia wedged between Angola, Zambia and Botswana, rich in both history and wetland wildlife.

Cross the border into Botswana and continue to Maun, the safari town that serves as the gateway to the Okavango Delta.

Transfer deep into the Okavango Delta itself, a vast inland waterway system and UNESCO World Heritage Site, to camp wild among the elephant, hippo and buffalo that call it home.

Return to Maun after your time in the Delta, with the afternoon free to relax, or to book an optional scenic flight over the Delta's channels and floodplains for a bird's-eye view unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Head for the vast, otherworldly Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest salt flats on the planet. Before departure, enjoy a morning meerkat encounter: these curious, upright sentries are famously unbothered by visitors.

Continue through the Kalahari sands to Elephant Sands, an unfenced camp built around a waterhole where wild elephant wander in throughout the day, often just meters from where you're sitting.

An early start for Kasane in the Chobe region, followed by an afternoon sunset cruise on the Chobe River, widely regarded as one of the best wildlife-watching experiences in Africa, with elephant herds, hippo pods and crocodiles along the banks.

An early morning game drive through Chobe National Park, before crossing into Zimbabwe and arriving in Victoria Falls, the self-styled Adventure Capital of Africa.

A full day to explore the falls and choose your own adventure: white-water rafting, bungee jumping, helicopter flights, or simply standing in the spray of "Mosi-oa-Tunya," the Smoke that Thunders. In the evening, the group gathers for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.
